Once you go SlR you'll never go back. I got other point and shoot cameras, but never used them after I bought my SLR canon xti. The other day, I ran out of battery and I tried to used a point and shoot to get some picture of some abandoned kitties I found. Then I realized that once you get used to your SLR, you'll find p&s a nuisance. And let's not get into picture quality and pixels.

I have medium size hands and this camera fits nicely. I like the larger fonts and LCD screen, being 58 my eyes need a little help . The settings are easy to find and change. The battery life is great, you can shoot all day long. Using a lens with IS cuts it down a little. I like all of the adjustments for the picture styles, you can change the contrast, saturation, sharpness or color tone. You can even make your personal settings and save them. For being the cheapest Canon DSLR this is a great camera. I have three Canon digitals the G3, 300D, and 400D and I like them all.

The bracket is fine although a little hard to store in your bag. The cord did not finction in ETTL mode with my Canon Rebel XTi. It could well be that a wire was cut but other reviews on this cable also indicated failures. The return with the seller was easy and w/o any problem. I recommend that you purchase the Canon Cable and not waste your time or money on an off brand.

Customer Review: Read error in less than a year
Ok. This is cheap. I bought a 4 GB card for less than 50.00 6 months ago. Being a DSLR photographer I used to take photos almost every week. I would say heavy usage. The card stopped working for me one fine day in 6 months ! giving Data error. No more cheap CF cards. I learned my lesson. Now I need to spend double the money to get a new 4 GB card from Scandisk or Kingston(?).

This is my first digital camera. I went from a 35mm to a digital SLR, which is a huge change. I purchased the kit, so it came with 2 lenses, an 8gb memory card, batteries, case, etc. - VERY good deal. I'm having so much fun taking pictures and "experimenting" with my new camera, however, I hardly know the first thing about using it. I'm just learning a lot by reading the manual and playing around with it, so, if anyone has any "tips", feel free to let me know. I was going back and forth between a Nikon vs Canon. One of the reasons I decided on the Canon was because of the "live view" option. I am a little disappointed, however, that when in the live view mode, you cannot look thru the eyepiece at the same time. Maybe this is normal? (I still love my camera, tho.)

Bought in December of 2006 and still working great 2 years and counting. I shoot 200 to 400 shots on the average per month. This is my primary battery backup for my Rebel XT battery. Made in China Pros: - Cost 1/3 the price compared with the original brand. - Original Canon battery cost more than 3 times but does not give you 3 times as much picture shots. - Sits perfect on the camera - Both batteries are still working perfectly so I cannot comment on which is more durable than the other. -Fast charging Cons: - Does not last as long as the rating suggests.

I got this item to power my rebel XT on long cold nights of astrophotography sessions. On my batteries, I could only get about an hour of exposures each, and had to keep checking if they were out. This item comes with a nice long cord to the "battery", and doesnt use a "wall wart". Instead it has a black box with a removable normal power cord. This saves room on your six outlet strip. My only problems with it are the "battery" doesn't really clip into the camera well, and slips out when you open the battery door. Secondly, the documentation says look in your original camera documentation to see which "battery" you should use. (It comes with two near identical ones) I had to go look it up on canon's website since I couldn't find my original documentation. How hard would it be to have a little table in the ac adapters instruction book?

After my recent purchase of the Canon G10, i found myself wanting to protect the 3.0" LCD screen. The screen protector is perfectly sized for the LCD screen. Application of the product is as was expected. No sprays, no sticky residue. Simply peel off cover 1, apply the protector to the screen, then remove the second cover. The cloth provided did leave tiny traces of reside on the LCD, but with patience and a careful eye (and proper lighting) you can get the screen particle free. The provided applicator card helped smooth out the edges and removed any bubbles. This protector is also washable and reuseable. I doubt i'll ever have to take it off, but its a great feature. I am very happy with my purchase. It is pricier than the eBay products, but this one i trust. I hear from friends that use cheap screen protectors (12 pack for $3) and that they keep falling off. Only time will tell how durable this screen protector is. So far the adhesiveness remains at its prime, 2 thumbs up. I would recommend that Boxwave offer a type of dust/particle remover that is in a sticky tape form. You would find exactly what im talking about packaged with the screen protectors sold at the apple store for the iphones. Those are by far the best at removing dust/particles in a normal setting. This product diminishes the image quality of your LCD to such a point you may as well not use the LCD to judge the quality of the photo you just snapped. It creates a grainy look to your LCD - if you need a screen protector look elsewhere. Consider using a completely clear protector so that your LCD is protected but not altered.
