I bought this as a gift. Wasn't sure that the recipient would use a tripod with her new camera. Turns out this was the perfect answer! She is not a photog professional - just someone who likes to try to get the best shot. This has helped out in many situations especially outside. Easy to carry, not heavy and is very pratical. Have had it used with both a normal digital camera (a small sony) and a larger digital SLR camera (Nikon) and both worked very well!
