Add 20 Yards to Your Golf Swing

I heard this great tip to help cure a slice. Best of all it is a simple to do once you understand it. I would have to say that I have battled with a slice in my game and I'll bet you have too. This part of my game cost me in more than one area. So let's take a look at the cure.

We all know that the most important factors and the only two factors that determine the path of flight of the ball are:

1. The club face angle at the point of impact
2. The swing or path the club is taking at the point of impact

OK, now let's see if I can explain the cure without turning this short article into a book. Here are some points to work on.

Keep your left shoulder, if you're right handed, down through the swing and the point of impact. If you're left shoulder moves up before impact think of the result. What would the path of the club look like? Take a club and swing it letting your left shoulder lift and you will be able to see the outside in swing. This is a slice and always will be.

What should we do about it? Keep your shoulder strong and down through the point of impact and even after the ball is traveling down the fairway. Imagine that you can see yourself from the back looking down at the ball. I am saying that your left shoulder and chest are still facing the ball through the striking point. Keep your left shoulder down and let your arms and hands release through the ball strike and you will see your shot go higher and farther than ever.

I hope this helps your game and remember The Golf Store for Inexpensive Golf Equipment. See you on the links.
