Simple Golf Putting Tips-Six Tips to Help Make More Putts Part 2!

In the last article we took a look at three tips that can help you improve your putting and lower score in this article we will do the same thing. Learning basic putting skills will help you lower your score and will have your friends amazed at how much better your scores and how much better your putting has become.

Tip Number 4-Mark Your Ball

When you are buying golf balls many of the golf balls today have a line drawn on them. But if you do not have a golf ball that has a line drawn on them get a sharpie and draw a straight line on the golf ball with an arrow on the end. When you read your putt and you feel like you have a line that you want to roll your golf ball on place the arrow facing that line and line your body up straight with the arrow. One of the biggest mistakes many golfers make when they are putting is they are putting to a line but their body is facing a hole. Getting the correct alignment to your intended target will help your putter face stay straight with the intended target through the stroke.

Tip Number 5- Use a Forward Press

When you are putting it is typical to stand over the ball and have your weight distributed on both sides of your feet. One of the easiest ways to make sure that you strike a true blow on the golf ball is to have a slight forward press which will move the putter handle in front of the putter face. Using a forward press will take some of the loft off of the putter so the ball does not skid once you hit it.

Tip Number 6-Buy the Right Putter for you

When you go to buy a brand-new putter go to a golf pro and asked them to help you pick out the correct putter size for you. Putters come in a lot of different sizes and getting the correct size putter will help you with your posture and make it easier to have a smooth putting stroke. The last thing you want to do when using your putter is to be slouched over this will not allow you to have a smooth swing and will cause you to miss a lot of putts and will drive your score up.

You have just read six tips for putting that can help improve your game, the most important thing you need to do is to practice your putting more than you practice your swing. Practicing putting is not near as fun as swinging your driver but it will in fact lower your golf score a lot quicker.
