Golf Swing Tip Instructions - Stop The Slice

The single biggest golf swing tip instructions that golfer's want the most is in dealing with slicing the golf ball. It's a problem that 80% - 90% of all golfers face.

Does this sound familiar? You aim way left and hit your tee shot, only to watch it fly way right? How do you go about stopping that dreaded slice? This is exactly what you're about to learn today. And in doing so you'll begin to enjoy the game of golf like it is meant to be.

Slicing is caused mainly from these three areas: the swing plane, clubhead path, and the golf grip. It's not caused by where you are aiming, or even how you're standing. Once you make the adjustments in these three areas, you'll put an end to the problem.

First, let's look at the swing plane. Most golf swing instructions don't touch on the swing plane, but that is the number reason for slicing the ball.

The swing plane for every golf club will be different. What I mean by that is if you take your driver and your 9-iron out and hold them at the address position, you'll quickly see that the 9-ron is closer to your body. This means that the swing plane is going to be different for the 9-iron than the driver. The 9-iron will be more upright and feel straighter up and down, while the driver feels flatter.

The cause of most slicing problems is due to golfers swinging the driver on a steeper swing plane like the 9-iron. When you swing the club too steeply, the result is an outside in swing pattern and a slice. The key is to flatten out the swing plane which will create a straighter shot. This will take some practice, but continue to make adjustments and you'll find the correct swing plane.

If this doesn't eliminate the problem, then work on the clubhead path. The clubhead path needs to be square as it goes through the impact zone. This may require you to adjust the position of the club in your hands to be a little more to the left. Again, make the adjustments a little at a time while on the range.

Finally, the golf grip may be the reason for slicing. A weak grip inevitably causes the ball to go right. Try strengthening your grip by rolling your hands a little to the right, which causes the "V" to point more to the right of your face. A weak grip is the second most common reason for slices.

Of course, these golf swing tip instructions are not as detailed as they can be. You can find more detailed tips and instructions at the end of this article. With these simple tips and a little practice on the range you should begin noticing improvement immediately.

The First Steps in Learning to Play Golf

You've done it. You've made the decision to start to play golf, but how do you go about it without looking silly? You will no doubt have an idea that you will be entering a whole new World with a language all of its own.

What should be your first step? Without doubt it is to take a lesson from a local club or driving range. You can pick up a club and start playing without a lesson, but you will not have the consistency you will want to strive for. Do not book up numerous lessons, just stick to the one for the time being. This will give you a chance to see if you like the sport and also if you like the tutor. Not everyone who can play golf can teach it and those that can may not be on your wavelength, so just have a trial to start with. Don't be put off by thinking that the Pro will not be on your wavelength. On the whole the Pro's are there to teach and are very good at their job, but you need to connect to get the best out of the lesson.

If you can, ask members of the club or friends if they know of the Pro and what they are like. At the end of the day it is a personal relationship you will have with the Pro, but hopefully your friends should know your character and point you in the right direction of somebody that will suit you.

The second thing to do is practice. It sounds boring, but when you are on the first tee waiting to play your shot, you will want it to be a good one. There is a plethora of information about how to tackle "first tee nerves", so don't underestimate the feelings that will be flowing through your body when you have a party of four golfers waiting for you to hit the ball for the first time - it is a nerve-wracking time.

Remember that golf is a game designed to frustrate, so don't get put off if it does not go right first time. If you watch any of the professionals play, you will see that they do not get it right all the time, so take heart from that.

Mechanics of a Golf Swing

Many different golfers wonder about the exact mechanics of a golf swing and how it effects their game. The truth is it pays to know all about your body and how you use it in order to achieve a better score in the game. It can take quite a long time to master because of the varying factors and aspects of it all, but with time and practice one can become a pro. In order to be able to swing a club with skill you need to get down the basic mechanics that are required in order to attain that skill. You have to know how to hit the ball correctly in order to become a good swinger and get the ball as far down on the green as you can.

Of course every golfer is different with different habits, handicaps, and methods so there are different mechanics that golfers will tell you are important, specifically about six. Number one is placing the ball on the correct place on the tee then positioning your body into the right posture. Number two is called the takeaway which is simply a movement which leads the club back before you start your number three, the backswing which leads the club back away from the ball.

The downswing is number four, this is where the player will use an arced posture to bring the club down in order to hit the ball. Number five has to do with impact, the moment the club touches the ball and sends it flying. It's important for the player to let the ball do all the work and not worry about force or power, as many amateurs do. Swinging over the top is another common handicap and problems among weekend golfers. Finally number six is the follow through which you have no doubt heard of. It is the idea that your club should be traveling the same way to hit the ball as your body in an arc through the air.

If you're struggling with your golf game, I completely understand how you feel!

It can be so frustrating watching ball after ball kick up sand as they land in the trap or make that familiar *splash* as they fall into the pond.

There are a lot of products online claiming to be able to help you improve your game. I've bought a whole bunch, and most of them SUCK!

How to Shorten Your Golf Swing

Should you learn how to shorten your golf swing? The ONLY reason why you would... is because you are not physically capable of making a full backswing. If you are not willing to work on your golf flexibility, then the only option would be to learn how to shorten your golf swing.

What Happens When You Make Less Than A Full Swing?

1) Lack of clubhead speed - resulting in shorter distances with every club.
2) Inconsistent timing - making it harder to duplicate good swing mechanics.
3) No torque - your core stores a lot of power via torque. This is from a big rotation. Smaller rotation equals less torque, which equals less power and again distance.
4) Less confidence - when you make a shorter backswing you typically know you're not going to hit it very far which affects your mental side of golf.

The Benefits Of A Shorter Backswing.

Doing a shorter swing makes it easier to get back to the ball since you know where the club is. This can create better ball contact and straighter shots. A perfect example of a short backswing that is successful on tour is Zac Johnson, and he still hits it LONG. He is one of the better ball strikers on tour.

Tips On How To Make A Shorter Swing

Focus on your left arm. When you are making your backswing, feel like your left arm is going to stop parallel to the ground. In reality it will be further than that, but this is a good starting point.

Along with your left arm is your hands. Think of your hands only going slightly higher than your hip height. Again in reality it will be further.

Improve Your Flexibility

If you want to hit with power, you should incorporate simple stretches specific to your backswing. That way you won't have to learn how to shorten your golf swing.

Do you want to discover the secret to creating more power and consistency in your golf swing, and eliminate ALL swing faults?

Can Beginner Golf Swing Instruction Improve Your Golf Score by 10 Strokes?

So you like to golf and the hardest thing to do is maintain consistency in your game. You have an awesome game going, only to find that it is ruined by one or two poor swings. If this sounds like you consider taking the following challenge. When you are on the course the next time and you are playing your 18 holes, keep track of the number of do overs you take. These could be mistakes, penalty strokes, and extra strokes you have to take because of the do overs. If the total is more than 10, take the challenge and take action to see if you can dramatically improve your game by getting back to the basics of beginner golf swing instruction.

Some may speculate and want to have golfers believe that promoting high-tech balls and special clubs will improve their score. Those of us who have been around know that the finest equipment in the world won't help if the problem with our game is in our swing. A recent study revealed interesting numbers that were suspected. They include numbers such as 94 percent of golfers have problems with their swing, 71 percent reported slicing the ball, and 62 percent had difficulty hitting the ball as far as they desired to. Problems such as these are common. However, they can all be corrected by going back to the basics and perfecting the components of beginner golf swing instruction.

I know it sound strange to think that if you have been playing for a while you need to go back to the basics. It might even seem ridiculous, but improving the basics of the golf swing does not require a huge financial commitment, or personal instructor. There are thousands of golfers who have learned to create a flawless swing by training their bodies properly. Within hours they are able to return to playing and trying out their new found techniques. The results are immediate, dramatic improvements in their game.

The only difference they had to learn was that by improving the grip, this would solve flipping in the golf swing. This in turn reduces vertical movement and promotes correct hand action and proper wrist movement in the golf swing. This allows them to hit the balls straight and farther with improvements in their swing speed of 10 M.P.H. consistently.

These golfers are from all over the world. They are from 36 different countries in all 7 continents. Of course they vary in physical ability and skills, but they all report amazing results. They have come to realize that it is not lack of ability or physical talent that is holding them back, but rather problems in their swing that have never been resolved. It is not the expensive golf ball or training that is based on physical capabilities that will produce consistent results. They have come to realize that the only way they can improve is by perfecting and practicing the swing itself. Then they can come to expect and see real and long lasting effects on their results.

If you take the time to learn new golf swing tips and instructions that focus on the individual components of the swing and break it down you will see results within hours instead of weeks. If you're losing more than 10 points per game give beginner golf swing instruction a try.

Most problems golfer's face can be found in their swing. To find out how beginner golf swing instruction can help go to http://beginner-golf-swing-instruction.blogspot.com

The Golf Ball Throughout History

The golf ball is a strange little ball, it is full of little bumps or dimples unlike other balls. You would expect a golf ball to be smooth more like a ping-pong ball only heavier right? Did the golf ball start out this way? Or are we looking at a slow process of evolution?

Over the years and throughout the history of golf there have been many a golf ball introduced to the game. The very first golf ball was the featherie. This was a leather pouch that was filled with feathers. It has to be filled with wet feathers and the leather was also soaked as well. This was all stitched inside out and then soaked in oil and dried and this left it a hard ball. This type of golf ball was then painted white and used on the golf course. It was not the most effective ball as it was only goof until it got wet, once that happened this golf ball was out of commission.

The next popular form of golf ball was the gutta-percha golf ball. This was a golf ball made from the gum of a Malaysian tree. The golf ball maker would take some of this Malaysian Sapodilla tree gun and mold it with heat into a ball like shape. This was a golf ball with smooth sides and it surprisingly enough did not even go as far as the featherie did and the featherie only went 150-175 yards a shot. So this golf ball was not the best one ever produced to say the least. But at this golf ball aged one professor noticed that it did better. It was the markings on the golf ball as it was used that was allowing it to travel further.

This is how the golf ball came to have the simples that it does today. Different people experimented with the best types of outer surfaces on a golf ball until this way was agreed to be the most efficient. A golf ball has a strange construction throughout however, the oddity of the golf ball does not only live skin deep. The inside of a golf ball consists of a rubber ball, a small one that is then wrapped over and over thousands of times with rubber thread. It is this thread of the golf ball that is then coated with the enameling, the enameling with dimples that gives the golf ball its recognizable finish.

The Golf Digest

As far as golf magazine in circulation goes, Golf Digest remains the most widely read monthly golf magazine. Made available in print by an American media company Advance Publications, this monthly digest concerns itself on golf topics in general flavor. While Advance Publications do circulate specialized golf digests like Golf for Women, Golf World, and Golf Business, Golf Digest remains their flagship when it comes to the golf arena.

Golf Digest is perhaps better known for its rankings of Americas 100 Greatest Golf Courses that featured the best golf course to be found worldwide. It was a colossal idea, as one researcher stated, since it promotes those major sponsorships and arrangements at the same time made Golf Digest readily feasible to the reading public if only the information for the best golf course was the collective interest.

Either case, Golf Digests rankings of Americas 100 Greatest Golf Courses proved to be very successful. So successful was it that ultimately, Golf Digests biennial rankings are regarded as an actual basis rate as far as every golf course go since its inception at 1985. The Golf Digests ratings are considered legitimate too, since the entries are voted on by a board of several distinguished golf experts. The most successful qualifier is the Pine Valley Golf Club, who topped the list every time except on the 2001 ranking.

Golf Digest also produces lists of the best new courses, the best golf resorts, and the best golf course in each state.

Golf Digest Magazine offers tips and secrets in golf equipment, starter instructions an techniques explained in articles and even an instructional video, news and top stories about the present and recent tours, feature articles on just about anything but regarding golf, travel suggestions towards the best golf courses, and of course Tiger Woods. Golf Digest can also be accessed by web www.golfdigest.com, where online golfing content are available for browsing.

Golf Digest became a branded circulation because it covers comprehensive issues about golf. A few other golf magazines feature comprehensive critiques, commentary, issues, reports, rumors, and stories about golf, all mixed in a flavorful manner. Golf Digest subscription is offered at $14.97 and the first time customer receives two risk free trial issues along with two free tips booklets. A Modern Golf Training System Works

Gone are the days when a golf training system mainly involved going over to the course and practicing your swing. This was hardly effective and for many unprepared golfers in poor physical condition often led to injury.

These days a golf training system has become more sophisticated and the key objective is to get results. Modern golf training systems usually involve golf-specific exercises designed to strengthen muscles that are used in the game.

Modern golf training systems also incorporate the use of exercise machines and equipment. The most effective of this seek to strengthen particular muscles and parts of the body that are critical to golf.

Stretching exercises are also important in any good golf training system. The right stretch exercises, sometimes incorporating the use of dumbbells, can help dramatically improve a golf swing and the distance of the drive on the course.

And stretching exercises do not have to be limited to the gym or exercise area. There are a number of stretch exercises that can be performed in the office, even while still seated on your chair. These have proved to be especially useful with many amateur golfers who hardly seem able to find the time to play golf, let alone spare a few hours at a crowded gym.

Golfers however need to be extremely careful because not all golf training systems are designed by qualified people. The wrong golf exercise can be even more harmful than no exercise at all.

The ideal situation is to have a golf training system that starts off dealing with the particular golf weaknesses you have, or at least emphasizing on them.

As you see the positive effect the exercises are having on your game, it will then be the perfect incentive for you to stay on the exercise program and your golf training system.

Customer Review: Great Value for the money
I purchased this kit for my new Olympus Evolt E-510. I found that I liked the size of this bag compared to the standard bag for this camera. There is plenty of room for all my gear. Its pretty durable. It has two sets of latches which tends to be a pain in you are in a hurry but I would much prefer to have them rather than have my camera fall out and get broken. I need all the safety I can get. I have not tried out the tripod as of yet but hope to soon. I would definately recommend this to anyone with a slr type camera.

I sincerely hope that the information that I will be providing will make your experience with golf an even more enjoyable and rewarding experience than it was for me. Enjoy!

In my opinion there are three things necessary to get started playing golf properly. Beside a desire to learn, the first and most obvious of the three is you need golf equipment, secondly, you have to have some basic knowledge of how to swing a golf club and the basic rules of the game, and last but certainly not least is learning "Golf Etiquette". As you will note I will keep emphasizing the "Etiquette" part of golf and as you become a more experienced player you it will become clear to you why.

Since the first item I noted as a requirement to play was Equipment, some recommendations I would make to acquire equipment are as follows: Golf equipment can be very pricey so it is important to know the type of equipment that is right for you before you make any substantial investments. Golf Clubs can range from as little as $150 per set to as much as $2,000 or more for the new, most advanced Hi- Tech equipment.

My recommendation for someone starting out is to buy a used set of clubs, either at a golf store or garage sale , borrow a set from a relative or friend, or purchase a starter set form your local golf or sporting goods store ie; Dick's Sporting Goods, Golfsmith, Modells, Walmart, etc.. If you decide to purchase a new starter set or a used set of clubs you should ask to speak to the resident golf professional ( Dick's or Golfsmith would offer this service). He should be able to recommend equipment that will allow you to get started without spending an exhorbitant amount of money. It will also give you a chance to experience the game and determine whether it is right for you.

As much as I love golf there are people who have no interest or desire to play. In conversation with them I usually find that either they have tried it, found it too difficult and gave up, or they were into other hobbies such as fishing , boating and did not think golf was an athletic enough sport for them. I'm assuming that if you're reading this that you want to learn to play golf. One of the topics of a subsequent writing will be how to LEARN TO PLAY the right way. It you want to give yourself a fair chance to see if you really enjoy the game you have to learn properly. Golf is not as easy as it looks and since we can't all be Tiger Woods, us mere mortals have to work a little harder at it if we want to learn to play well. Forgive my digression, but I will do that from time to time to emphasize a point. The next writing will be about learning how to play, so back to equipment.

The beginning golfer does not need to carry 14 clubs ( the approved amount of clubs allowed to be carried under USGA - United States Golf Association rules). When I first started playing I had a golf bag I borrowed, A driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 5 iron, 7 iron, 9 iron, sand wedge and a putter and it was more than enough clubs to play. The different numbered clubs are used for different distances. For example, the Driver is the least lofted club, which means you can achieve the most distance utilizing this club.

The subsequent clubs noted, 3 wood, 5 wood, 5, 7 & 9 irons and sand wedge all have increasing angles of loft respectively, so as the number increases on the club the resulting distance will decrease accordingly. Each number will progressively represents about a 10 to 20 yard variance depending on one's ability and if you are using a wood or an iron. As you begin to play you will learn more about when and why you use the different clubs but the important thing is to get started. Grab your clubs and get ready to learn to play"The Right Way" .

The Size and Weight Of A Golf Ball

Golf ball manufacturers pay attention to how most weekend golfers play and address those issues in accordance with the minimum and maximum tolernaces for golf balls.

Most golf ball manufacturers are looking for the same thing, sales. They achieve this by customer staisfaction for their product. Keeping these in mind, along with adhering to the rules set out by the United States Golf Association, manufacturers for the most part will produce golf balls with the minimum and maximum requirements.

The size of the golf ball, according to the rules of golf is as follows. The diameter of the golf ball must be at least 1.680 inches or 42.67 millimeters. A smaller ball has a tendency to fly further than a larger ball due to less air resistance on a smaller object in flight, or in other words the smaller ball does not need to displace as much air as a larger ball. Keeping this in mind, most manufacturers will produce golf balls to the minimum size.

On the other hand, the weight of a golf ball, according to the rules of golf, must not exceed 1.620 ounces or 45.93 grams. The heavier the ball the less it is slowed by air resistance, and thus the furhter it will fly. For this reason most manufacturers produce balls to the maximum weight allowance.

Using this information you can check the size and weight of golf balls you purchase. If you are a higher handicap player looking for a few more yards, use the smallest and heaviest ball.

In further articles I will discuss golf ball compression, what is meant by spin, and why golf balls have dimples.

Everyone who plays golf knows how to swing a golf club - the obvious problems arise when, having swung, the ball doesn't do what we expected it to do. Perhaps "hoped it would do" is a better term for many of us.

The irritating reality is that not all of us were born with the ability to swing a golf club like the tour pros do. Even if we studied the biomechanics of that sort of swing, most of us probably wouldn't be able to replicate it.

Mere golf mortals need to demystify the anatomy of a golf swing. We need a simple, repeatable golf swing that will allow us to hit the fairway from the tee and land on the green from the fairway - consistently!

"The simple golf swing" gets us back to the fundamentals of a golf swing. It eliminates all the twists, turns and unnecessary movements from your golf swing and replaces these with a simple 5 step system that anyone can benefit from in a short space of time.

Starting with your set up over the ball (probably the most important factor in determining your ultimate score for a round), you can quickly develop a golf swing that injects both length and direction into your game.

There is an added bonus to all this which many golfers will appreciate. It not only gives you a swing that is consistent and repeatable, it also gives you a swing that reduces stress on the lower back. And because it is based on golf swing fundamentals, both high and low handicap players can benefit from this system.

An improved swing leads to improved shot making, better scores, increased confidence and an ever increasing feeling of achievement. Now that's the sort of golf I like to play.

Slay your handicap by quickly and easily developing a Consistent Golf Swing

Getting a good score in golf partly depends on several factors. One of them is the golf ball. Unfortunately, except for private games, you normally cannot control what ball you use. Two factors which you can control are your golf club and your swing. If you know how to choose the right club for the right situation and know how to use that club well enough, then it becomes easier to do well. The following is a list of 9 questions and answers to help a new golfer choose the correct club:

1) What are the correct golf clubs I need for a game?

Firstly, you are allowed up to 14 golf clubs. For their full set of golf clubs, many players choose a driver (1-wood), two fairway woods (generally 3- and 5-woods), a set of irons from 3 to 9, a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, a putter, and one more club of the player's choice. A common variation is to replace the 3- and 4- irons with modern easier-to-hit modern "hybrid" clubs.

2) The hole is nearby. What is the correct golf club to use?

The putter. This club is specially designed to keep the ball on the ground and rolling on the grass after you hit it.

3) What do I use for my first shot?

You use the driver, also known as the 1-wood. This is your longest-ranged club. Normally, this will be only time you use this club. Modern 1-woods are designed to hit off the tee, and difficult for beginners to use elsewhere. They have the longest shaft and the biggest head.

4) My ball keeps on hitting the hills. What is wrong?

Generally, this means the number of your club is too low. A club with a higher number is designed to hit your ball higher into the air. The downside is that you trade distance for height.

5) I swing my woods the same way, but I cannot get a consistent distance. Sometimes the ball goes farther, sometimes nearer. What should I do?

Try a wood with a stiffer shaft. A stiffer shaft gives you more consistent distance, but reduces your maximum distance. This is probably your best choice if you are a weekend golfer without very much practice time.

6) Oops! My ball is in the sand trap...

Sigh... Step 1) Pray. Step 2) Grab your sand wedge.

7) There are so many irons. How do I know which one to use?

For a beginner, let me suggest the 1-Iron Golf System. Firstly, all the irons in your set of golf clubs have the same length, so you only need to learn one swing and one ball position. With a normal set of irons, you may need to learn up to 10 different swings and 10 different ball positions. While a pro may lose out in flexibility, a weekend player gains in simplicity and consistent performance.

Generally speaking, you use the high-numbered irons for more height, more control and less distance. You reserve the low-numbered irons when you need more distance, but not the height. Typically, the rougher the terrain, the higher the iron.

8) I'm in the rough. What is the correct golf club?

Normally, you would use the irons. They are designed to punch or cut through the grass and hit the golf ball. The heads of your woods, in contrast, are designed to skim on top of the grass.

9) I am facing a hole with a hazard right in front of the green. Which club do I use?

This is one reason why even beginners should try to develop a swing which delivers the ball a consistent distance. With just the right hybrid club, you can hit a shot to carry the full distance to the green in the air, but then "stick" on the green relatively close to its impact point. This is due to the design of many hybrid clubs, which prevents the ball from rolling very far at the end of the shot.

Do you have these 3 problems with your golf swing: 1) inconsistency; 2) slice; 3) distance? Click here to find out how to improve your golf swing.

Opteka Remote Shutter Release Cord for Nikon D90 Digital SLR Camera

These new remote releases from Opteka allows the camera to be released from a distance. All electronic, just plug-in and use. Has a momentary release, as well as a locking position for time releases.
Customer Review: This Product Doesn't work for me!!!
Bought the Opteka shutter release. It didn't work at all. Called 47th St. Photo. They sent me a new one. Second one didn't work either. Called 47th St. again. They sent me a THIRD cable. Guess what? Third one also did not work. IN MY OPINION, THERE IS SOMETHING DEFECTIVE IN THE MANUFACTURE OF THIS PRODUCT. I WOULD NEVER BUY AN OPTEKA PRODUCT AGAIN, AND FOR THAT MATTER WILL PROBABLY STAY AWAY FROM 47TH ST. PHOTO ALSO.

Typically, the very mention of the sport Golf evokes responses such as, "Its an expensive game," "the clubs and equipment is too costly," "I can't afford it" so on and so forth. However, golf is not just about money, it's about passion and desire. While the fact that playing golf can be heavy on the pockets is true, it is also true that there are many affordable ways to play golf. But before getting into the game of golf, it is important for you to be as honest and as committed to the game as possible. After all, the amount of money you spend is related to the level of dedication you have for golf...isn't it?

An easy way to familiarize yourself, without spending thousands of dollars on golf equipment, is to take a few cursory classes in golf. Learn to swing and putt and generally get a feel of the game. When you begin to start enjoying your lessons in golf, it will be time to pursue the game more seriously and with more dedication. To start with, you will need some golfing equipment. An affordable option for golf clubs is to buy pre-owned clubs. Buying used golf clubs doesn't mean that you will be sacrificing quality over money. It simply means that you can enjoy golf even if you don't have the capacity to spend several hundreds of dollars on new golf clubs. A great place to look for some amazing used clubs deals is the internet. Of course, there are many golf equipment or general auction sites as well which allow you to place bids on pre-owned golf club sets.

Before you buy any pre-owned or used golf clubs, you must ask yourself if you need a different type of golf club because of the change in your golf game? If your handicap has risen because you are unable to devote several hours in a week to play the game, you may want to opt for cavity backs instead of muscle backs. On the other hand, if your golf game has improved due to regular and frequent practice, then you may be willing to opt for golf clubs that can further help improve your game. Ideally, you should try to match the level of your game and your dedication towards the game with the playing ability of new clubs.

Another great suggestion to save money and ensure that playing golf remains affordable for your pocket is to only buy as much equipment as you really require. There is absolutely no need to buy every piece of golf equipment available under the sun. The idea is to enjoy the game of golf as much as possible. Step out into the market and you will find some really fantastic bargains on every piece of golf accessory and equipment such as shoes, hats, ball markers, gloves, bags, and whatever else. However, you must be willing to spend time searching in order to find the most affordable golfing accessories and equipment possible to ensure that you not just enjoy your game, but make it a fun and great game too!

Portabrace Waterproof/Crushproof Case with Custom Foam Insert for Flip Video Mino Series or new MinoHD Camcorders

Customer Review: Perfect protection
This case is perfect protection for the flip mino hd camera. It's small enough to not be cumbersome, but extremely well-padded to keep the camera from jiggling inside the case. This is a perfect way to protect the camera, even when flying (no fear of it being crushed.)
Customer Review: Misleading Product Description
The description for this item is: Portabrace Waterproof/Crushproof Case with Custom Foam Insert for Flip Video Mino Series or new MinoHD Camcorders The reality is, there is no custom foam insert with this case. It is filled with foam but it doesn't conform to the shape of the Film Mino HD as specified. It's just two flat sheets of foam and you have to seriously compress the box to close... it takes so much pressure that I am concerned about it damaging the camera. I don't use it.

When you start playing golf in beginning then you have to take all equipments related to it. The best thing is that you can take only the most required articles in beginning. Possession of right fittings assures you easy success in game and also makes playing game simple. For the achievement of goals it is important to have the right set.

You should always keep your golf sets separate from others because this is a game where you can not share your equipments with anyone. As a beginner you need the following sets which are required for playing.

Golf Clubs

First of all you need to collect and include clubs in your kit. There are four types of clubs i.e. woods, irons, putters and hybrids.

Woods golf clubs are very long with shafts measuring about 40 to 47 inches. These clubs have large heads and spherical shape. Wood clubs are most suitable for working on situations which necessitate hitting off the tee. When you are supposed to take a definite carries or drive then you should always keep wood club in your golf set.

Wedges golf clubs comes with loft of more than 44 and this special feature makes it different from other clubs.

Another category of clubs is putters which are basically used on green grounds. Putters club has low loft and short shaft which combines well the features of accuracy and skillful touch.

Next is irons golf clubs which are most resourceful as well as easy to handle. Some golfers prefer to make do in this game by using only an iron. These are rather short than woods clubs and comes in shafts measurement of 36 to 40 inches. For using the irons clubs you need to possess relative expertise and sufficient amount of accuracy.

Players can take with them maximum fourteen assorted clubs in their golf sets. This kit consist of all different clubs as 2 wedges, one putter and three woods.

Golf Balls

This is second most important equipment in your golf set. Standard diameter of balls are 42.67 mm. Balls are made generally from synthetic materials. Most important feature of these balls is its dimple which creates smoothness. The sleek finish of balls affects the spin and curve of ball. Material of them affects the ultimate results of this game, such as ball with harder material results in longer distance and softer material ball require more spin.

Although there are some more things like bags, cleats and tees but these above mentioned tools are most required in your set when you are going to begin playing golf.

Customer Review: Flip Soft Pouch for Flip Ultra
I was very disappointed when I received it. It is too small and therefore cannot be used on Flip Ultra. I like a refund.
Customer Review: Unneeded, not well made, don't buy it.
I bought this item because I like to have the original OEM products and accessories from a company when I make an electronics purchase (in this case, the Flip Mini HD with I am enjoying). This case is hard to open and get the camera into, the hook is cheap, and it is just pretty useless overall. Don't buy it. Get a third-party case that holds more (like the optional USB cable and stand).

Are you interested in golf but you don't know where to start? Or maybe you're a golfer looking to improve you game but don't want to shell out a lot of money on a personal instructor. One of the ways to get the information you need for little or no cost and with very little effort is by using the internet as a resource.

The internet has many sites that are dedicated to golf and you'll be able to find firsthand tips on ways to improve your game. They will provide advice for golfers just starting out as well as tips for experienced golfers who have hit a plateau. Not only are there tips but many times there are full golf lessons available for free or for very little cost. The reason for this is that websites want you to use their site to purchase golf equipment. Whether or not you do is up to you but you can still reap the valuable advice.

Many websites offers forums for golfers to swap stories ask advice and recommend equipment and golf courses. This is sometimes the most valuable information since there are people asking and replying that are just like you. They aren't trying to sell a product but just genuinely trying to help each other out. People who like to offer up free advice often start up a blog which is an online diary. They usually offer tips and summarize their golf experiences. If you're thinking about a certain piece of equipment or trying out a certain golf course then you can post a message on these forums and fellow golfers will be happy to offer advice.

With golf growing in popularity there shouldn't be any problem finding sites for what you want. One site will lead you to the next. For example, there is usually a "links" tab to click on. It will recommend other sites that will give you tips or forums for golfers. Then those will give you more links and so on.

The internet is also a great place to check out other information regarding golf course fees, weather, and driving directions. If you want to get started in golf but you're on a budget then the internet should be your first choice in looking for second hand equipment and other deals.

Golf information and tips do not need to cost you anything. By using the internet all of the information is free (or very cheap) and right at your finger tips.

Its so easy to capture the magic of every moment when SD880 IS Digital ELPH comes along for the ride.Theres a terrific sense of creative options for your photographic sense with a wide range of shootingmodes and a wide-angle 28mm lens--all because your camera sees the world without limits. Of course, its a stylish point of view from a camera that merges up-to-the-moment performance with the art ofimpeccable design.
Customer Review: PCB Assembly needed to be replaced after 3 months
We're Not happy with this camera. My first Canon camera was a S400. After 8 years of use, it needed a repair which was a known defect so Canon covered all shipping and repair costs. We purchased the SD880IS in February 2009 and the "PCB Assembly was inoperative" 3 months later. We hardly even used it! We used the camera heavily for 3.5 days out of those 3 months before it broke. Very disappointing. Don't Buy! Don't Buy!
Customer Review: My SD 880 IS is superb!
I have read the negative reviews of the SD 880 IS and can only conclude that there must have been a small batch of cameras that were defective since the majority of evaluations were positive. I have owned a number of Canons and they have been excellent. I have had the 880 since last November when I passed my SD 870 IS down to my son. I wanted the new features and they have proved very beneficial. The picture quality, especially sharpness and color saturation, are exceptional especially when enlarging to letter sized prints. I recommended this camera to a friend of mine and unfortunately he had the "black screen" experience mentioned in one of the negative reviews. Before the problem, however, he took over 800 really beautiful pictures in Egypt, Jordan and the Holy Land. I hope Canon rectifies the defects in manufacturing as I am a big supporter of these wonderful little cameras.

It is very difficult to explain the basic components behind the golf swing or jotting down the golf swing instruction as the professional golfers spend years working for correcting their golf swings. The fundamental aspects which determine the golf swing never change. The determining aspects are based on some scientific facts like levers, thrust, power, centrifugal force, and many more facts like that.

In this place we have tried to write down some analysis of golf swing instruction and the ways for making the golf swing better without any technical reasoning of the discussion. You may compare this with the use of television, we are all fond watching the TV and use the remote for that, but we are all little aware of the technology behind the functioning of the remote.

The Quick Fixes

You can't think of having any kind of quick fixes, but the golf swing instruction doesn't allow that. Although everyone are fascinated by prompt results due to natural human trait, but some time is always required to study any new skill let it be mental or physical. If you are going to slice the ball, a general fix is adjusting the grip for attaining a stronger or hook grip. This may make the ball go much straighter, but this can be compared to putting a piece of cloth on a bleeding vein.

The golf swing instruction says, when you are making a slice to the ball you must be aware of the fact that you must have something wrong in the basics of your swing and not just in the grip. Now if you fail to recognize and mend your basic problem, it may lead to more problems, too. The slice may be a result of a number of different things. If you have the turn, you may also end up having severe back problems.
What to Do and What Not to Do According to the Golf Swing Instructions

* You should watch the good golfers and the tournaments. Try to imitate them

* Never watch the game of the struggling players. And never try to look at their swings

* Practice more, only practice can turn your swings close to the best.

* Try to practice on your driving range, at the living room, and sometimes even at the backyard.

* Practice with full concentration. You will find more results if you spend fifteen minutes practicing golf swing with full focus rather than practicing without any kind of concentration for hours.

* If you get tiered always go for a rest of few minutes.

* Never wear sun glasses while practicing; they damage your perception of depth. Most of the professional players never wear sunglasses because of this reason.

* You can start doing golf drills to get a better swing.

* Try to walk on the golf course. There is a valid reason behind this. This will provide you with more time for concentrating on the next shot. Thus it actually will improve your speed.

* Record your games by a professional camera person; it will help you to do post-match analysis of your shots.

Physics of the Golf Swing

Any person who has ever swung a golf club at a golf ball has some idea of the importance of perfecting the physics of the golf swing. A golf swing that is executed properly is what will have the most impact on any golfer's game whether they are professional or amateur. The golf swing simply has physics stamped all over it and is a good example of an angular motion. Understanding the physics of the golf swing can bring any player to the next level of achievement in this game. Any person who has just decided to give golfing a try will do well to do a little research on this important and sometimes complex aspect of this game. Understanding the physics of the golf swing will bring a player closer to perfecting any shot that has to be made in the game. There is certain physics to the chip shot, putting, driving, getting out of the rough, or getting a clean hit from the green.

If you are an amateur golfer it is a spectacular idea to sit down and really watch a professional game of golf. To some people this may be extremely boring, but it is worth watching to simply take note. Getting a good look at the physics of a golf swing being properly executed can help any amateur's game. When watching the professionals, you can get a good look at their use of torque, speed, and other important physics factors. Twisting of the body from the downward swing will put the needed torque on the club head.

This torque force will change the angular velocity of your club and this will cause rotation. Watching a professional game of golf will certainly not get you ready for every situation you may encounter in an amateur game. Professionals are good at what they do for the most part. So, what this means is that you may not get to see the tough shots being executed that might trouble you in the amateur portion of your career. This is where you have to get out there and get into a game of golf and see what properly applied physics can do for you and your own game.

When delving into the physics of a golf swing you need to know about your clubs. It is important to remember that most club heads weigh about the same amount, no matter what brand. This means that the real key to being able to hit the ball well lies in the velocity of the club head. So, the faster the head of your club is traveling at the bottom of your swing, the greater amount of kinetic energy you will be transferring from the club head to the ball. The kinetic energy in a swing will be proportional to the mass of your club head and will be the square of its velocity. It is not necessary to know all the formulas that go with the physics of the golf swing, however, it is necessary to know what effects what. In the game of golf it is important to be able to utilize your whole body in the fluidity of a swing.

Golf Guide For Beginners - Tips And Info

Outside for Your Golf Swing is the Most Common

Outside in a golf swing is the most commonly played bad shot in golf. It is when the player does not hit the ball properly and it caused it to move inaccurately. Many people are not sure what causes it and so do not know where to start working in order to put it right.

It is commonly believed that it is caused by using the arms too much in the swing and other people say it is by swinging not close enough to the body. In fact it is probably caused by both of these things - by swinging more with the body instead of the arms you should be able to get a much better shot. But how can you achieve this.

It is quite a tricky thing o practice and trying to use the body more than the arms is not something which comes naturally to most people. A good way to help is to strengthen those muscles that you use for the swing such as the abdominals and lower back.

This means that when you try to swing and use these muscles, they will be more flexible and therefore better able to move as you want them to. If these muscles are weak then it is likely that it is easier to swing with the arms as you are more used to using these muscles and they are stringer.

By strengthening other muscles that you need to use, you will find that they will be more capable of working and helping with the swing action and therefore preventing an outside in golf swing.

Custom Golf Equipment

For anyone who is serious about their golf, having custom fitted golf equipment is a must. There are so many variables in the golf swing, things that can and do go wrong. So by having your golf equipment custom fitted, you are removing some of the factors which can lead to poor performance on the golf course.

In this article I'm going to look at some of the options you have in getting access to custom golf equipment. Many people assume it's going to be an expensive process but I am going to show you a way that you can get this custom equipment at a relatively cheap price.

What You Need To Know Before Buying Custom Golf Equipment

Before looking to get equipment custom fitted, you are obviously going to need to know what you specifications are. To do this, your best option is to get your swing analysed by a pro, who may also use a launch monitor.

This is going to give you the information you need to take to your club maker so they can put together a set that is going to be matched to your swing.

Custom Golf Equipment - OEM Manufacturers

For those of you who don't know, OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, and in the golf world refers to the brand name manufacturers who produce ready-made equipment - Titleist, Callaway etc.

Because this equipment comes ready-made, there is a limit on the customisation that can occur before your purchase. As a general rule, features that you can may be able to select before you purchase can include: shaft flex, shaft length and the grip, as well as loft on your driver.

You are not going to be able to have such things as lie and loft adjusted, until after you have purchased, and this is then going to cost you additional money. Having the equipment custom fitted after it has been purchased will still see good results, but can never be as good as having the entire club/set built with your needs in mind.

Custom Golf Equipment - Component Manufacturers

As the name suggests, a component manufacturer takes the individual components of the golf club -the shaft, head and grip - and puts them together themselves. This differs from the OEM's who have theirs put together in factories.

Shaft Consistency

Without going in to too much technical detail, shafts will perform slightly differently depending on how they are inserted within the hosel. This can lead to inconsistencies in performance amongst clubs of the same set.

If you've ever had an iron in a set that you always struggled to hit, this could be the reason.

The club maker uses technologies that allow them to align the spines of the set to ensure that the performance is consistent across the entire set. This is one of the major benefits of buying your equipment from a component manufacturer.

For Further Information

If you would like to learn more about this there are two main techniques - do a Google search on spine aligning, and PUREing and you should get plenty of information.

Again with an OEM set, you can have the shafts removed and re-adjusted, but this is going to cost you extra money.

Lie & Loft

When the component manufacturer is putting together your equipment they are able to create the exact lie and loft that you specify based on discussions with the club maker and your pro.

So what you end up with is a set that was put together by a professional club maker (as opposed to a factory hand), with your exact needs in mind. And the best part of all this is that the equipment is going to cost you a fraction of what you would pay for that big brand stuff.

So for me it is a no-brainer. Many people will argue that the performance characteristics of the components used will not be as good as OEM equipment.

They may be right - but talk to any pro and they will tell you that the shaft is the most important part of the club. You have many more shaft options with a component guy, and they will ensure the shafts are consistently inserted.

Again you can have the stock shaft from the OEM equipment removed, buy some upgraded shafts and have them spine aligned, but if you are on a budget this is going to bust it - and the extra performance you may get out of the club it is not really commensurate with the price.

So if you are looking for custom golf equipment at an affordable price, the component manufacturers are going to be your best option. You will get hand crafted clubs, made with components of high quality, and you are going to save yourself a bundle of cash in the process. Happy days.

Golf Art - Bring Your Golf Memories Home With You

Golf art is the perfect gift for the golf enthusiast, however, it can also be a great accent to your office dcor or your home's dcor. There are a lot of different art mediums that you can select from that have golf themes. There are original golf paintings, there are golf themed prints, there are golf posters, and there are golf themed stained glass pieces. The type of art that you select will most likely depend on why you are buying the art, where the art will be displayed, and your art budget.

Professional Golf Art

One artist that is known for her golf themed paintings is Linda Hartough. Linda's paintings have been the official artwork for several charity tournaments and professional golf tournaments like the 2003 U.S. Open. Her golf course art pieces are available as original oil paintings or as art prints, and they range in themes from major golf course to breathe-taking landscapes. Her prints make a great corporate gift for golf lovers and golf professionals.

Tom Fort is another golf artist that specializes in landscapes and golf course paintings. His work has been commissioned by many major and local golf course and tournaments. His commissioned work usually focuses on the prize hole of the course or a panoramic view of the most attractive vantage point on a particular golf course. His work is available as either original oil paintings or as prints.

Do-It-Yourself Golf Art

If you would like to transform one of your own golf memories into a work of art, but you don't have $3,000 to spend on an original oil painting, then there is a cheaper alternative. If you have a photograph of your golf memory then you can have this photo printed on canvas for between $20 and $75, or you can have the photograph turned into a real painting for under $200. There are several online and local photo shops that offer these services. After you get your canvas back from your photo shop you will need to stretch it on stretcher bars and then frame it. This will prevent the paint from cracking and chipping.

Are you searching for golf art? Fore Her Golf carries clothing and accessories with a feminine appeal including polo shirts, skirts, shoes, golf grips and outerwear from top brands - also a great selection of unique golf gifts and memorabilia for the lady golfer in your life. Fore Her Golf is your source for women's golf supplies and gifts, products reviews and recommendations as well as game tips and training techniques. Cold weather has - historically at least - presented us with a real 'catch 22' situation, because in order to stay warm and dry we would need to pile on more (or thicker) layers. These extra layers restrict movement, which restricts the swing, which hurts performance, which lessens our enjoyment of the game - and isn't that why we play in the first place?

To help us break out of this vicious cycle we'll be looking at ways and means of keeping warm, and performing better, but first I've selected an example of a new lightweight 'performance' outerwear product that - through the use of new materials - allows both freedom of movement AND protection from the elements.

BUT, while I have a fantastic selection of outerwear that ensures you stay warm out on the course I cannot over-stress the importance of getting nice and warm BEFORE you head out.

Many golf-related injuries are the cause of insufficient stretching and warming up before the game - and the cold only magnifies that threat.

Now you've spent time and effort making sure that you're fully prepared for the challenges of the day's play it's important to remember that temperature doesn't just affect YOUR performance; it also affects your equipment - particularly your golf ball.

With prolonged exposure to cold conditions golf balls actually 'tighten' and lose elasticity - and with it yardage and feel - so if you want to make sure your golf balls are giving their best then either use a softer, lower compression ball or (especially with harder golf balls) simply leave them in a warm spot overnight.

Hopefully you're now more ready than ever to face the elements, so get out there and do me proud!

The Secret to Golf Length

And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethpage Black, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent forth two of his disciples. (Mark 11:1 K.J.V.) "Verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall have great length on Earth shall have unheard of length in Heaven", said Jesus to his disciples. And so the quest for great length off the tee began.

Every golfer is searching for the secret to golf. The secret is that there is a secret to golf, and you are about to learn it. Everyone knows that money is the root of all evil. Jesus commanded everyone to sell all of their possessions and to give all of the money to the poor. Are there any Christians on Earth today? When Jesus entered the Temple in Jerusalem he began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, and he said, Is it not written, My House shall be called of all nations the House of Prayer? But ye have made it a den of thieves. (Mark 11:15-17).

During the time of Christ, golfers used wooden golf balls and wooden golf clubs made from the hickory tree. Then, in the early 1600s, the featherie golf ball was invented. The featherie golf ball was a hand sewn cowhide bag stuffed with goose feathers and painted. Because it flew so beautifully, it lasted for 200 years. In 1848 Reverend Doctor Robert Adams hardened the sap of the gutta percha tree into latex and invented the gutta percha golf ball, which replaced the featehrie golf ball from 1850 until 1900, when rubber took over. The rubber balls lasted until 1930. Todays balls have a titanium metal core with many layers of surlyn and balata coverings. Golf club shafts evolved from hickory tree wood with persimmon tree heads to steel shafts and now to graphite shafts with very large titanium heads. Despite the incredible advances in golf club and golf ball technology, the handicaps of male and female golfers have not gone down, according to noted author and custom club fitter Steven Passarell. How could this be? Here is the answer.

Famed Psychiatrist and 9 Handicap Sigmund Freud explained the human ego: The human ego is the part of the cerebellum concerned most with feeling like a great human being. In many cases of over developed cerebelli, the human being begins to believe that in a prior life, he was the Messiah Jesus Christ, or Napoleon Bonaparte, as a defense mechanism to the haranguing of over critical parents and the resulting wounded ego. (Austrian Journal of Medicine Volume XXIV, page 69). Golf club and golf ball manufacturers have known forever that the most important thing to the male and female golfer, the cure for an ego wounded in childhood is distance off the tee.

According to Stephen Hawking, the worlds greatest scientist, the Earth is 5 billion years old. A mere 2,500 years ago in Gehenna, just south of Jerusalem, in the valley of Gehinnom, the Jewish and non Jewish people of the land of Canaan used to sacrifice their first born male children on fire altars to the God Baal aka Beelzebub aka Satan. The drummers beat their drums loudly to drown out the screams of the burning alive babies. Golf club and golf ball manufacturers have known forever that golfers were perfectly willing to sacrifice accuracy and $500 for added distance off the tee. Their first clue was when golfers in the long drive competition would throw down their driver after their massive hit, and beat their chests with both fists, like the apes with which humans have 99% the same DNA.

From the time of Jesus Christ until the time of Jack Nicklaus, scientists knew that the exactly perfect length for the mens driver was 43. It didnt matter how tall you were because God gave taller players longer arms. Every golf club manufacturer from the time of Jesus until the time of Jack knew that if you made the driver shaft even 1/8 of an inch longer, the golfer would hit into the ground, and in an effort not to hit into the ground, the golfer would make swing changes and then begin to spray the ball all over the park. This is why at long driving contests the fairway is the width of a football field and the golfers with their long shafts are still blowing it out of bounds.

In the 1990s golf club manufacturers began to make the driver shafts 2 and 3 inches longer, 45 and 46. They marketed the fact that these golf clubs hit the ball further and golfers did not care if their 300 yard drive flew two fairways over that made the drive seem even longer. Ladies drivers went from the standard 42.5 inches used by Mary Magdalene and Kathy Whitworth to 44 and 45. As Nike Golf made millions selling 45 drivers, Tiger Woods continued to play with 43 steel shafted Nike drivers, and Tiger continued to lead in driving distance and piled up major after major playing against Pros who had switched to the 45 driver trying to match Tigers distance. Augusta National lengthened their golf course after Tiger won the Masters at 18 under. Jack Nicklaus and Slammin Sammy Snead hit the ball 300 yards right down the middle using 43 steel shafts with persimmon tree heads. The whole time that Tiger was on his major rampage, Nike Golf refused to make drivers with 43 shafts available to the public.

Billions of dollars of advertising have gone into convincing the public that 45 and 46 drivers are the next best thing to the arrival of Jesus Christ. Taylor Made and Titleist and Callaway and Nike Golf are making fortunes selling these too long shafts, and the PGA of America couldnt be happier. Their 32,000 golf professionals are making a fortune teaching golfers how to hit their too long woods and irons a feat impossible for the average golfer, which leads to endless lessons and purchases of golf books and golf magazines filled with golf tips and videos and CDs and golf swing training accessories. Suddenly, along comes Peter Kessler hawking the Perfect Club, because it goes straight, but the Perfect Driver loses about 75 yards in distance because get this, the shaft is 42 inches. The inch decrease costs the golfer a ton of yardage.

The first big golf company coming out with a graphite shafted 43 driver with a titanium head, with the new Prov1x golf ball, is going to wipe out the rest of the other golf club manufacturers, and bring the average handicap down by 8 shots, because there is no loss of distance, and the ball goes dead straight. In the meantime men cut your shaft down to 43 and ladies cut your shafts down to 42.5 inches. There will be no loss in accuracy or distance. Until then, choke up on your driver 2 and watch the ball fly long and straight off that big sweet spot time after time again. Shaving 8 shots off your score instantaneously should be a good thing for your ego and your bank account. This will also speed up pace of play, David Fay. Hasnt your ego suffered enough humiliation hunting for your $5 golf ball in the trees yet? In our next installment we will discuss how your golf club manufacturers silently de-lofted all of your club heads turning your 9 iron into a 7 iron to make you think that you are hitting your shaft lengthened de-lofted 9 iron farther. Didnt Jack use his towering ball flight to hold the greens at Augusta? The pros have their clubs custom made. You arent using the same clubs they are. Only the label is the same.

Speaking of Jesus, the X factor golf swing has been heralded as a way to improve your distance. It means that you keep your left heel down, make a tiny hip turn and a big shoulder turn to hit the ball farther. A noted former PGA tour player turned orthopedic surgeon, Bill Mallon, M.D., calls this the fastest way to blow out your back and wind up in excruciating life long pain, in his book, The Golf Doctor: How to Play a Better Healthier Round of Golf. Didnt Jack do OK letting his left heel come 2 off the ground? The surgeon recommends letting it come up even farther to save your back. Harry Vardons came up about 5 inches. Jesus recommended three. There is no need to sacrifice your back in your quest for added length off the tee. Try a longer driver, or a new golf psychologist. The only people not benefiting from these long shafts are the golfers. Everyone else, the whole golf industry, is laughing all the way to the bank.

Guide to Golf - The Right Mentality Brings Victory

In most activities in life, success or failure starts in the mind. If you believe you can't do something, you won't be able to do something. The same applies to golf. The masters at golf are those who refuse to be intimidated, who believe they can win and go ahead do all they can to win, those who play with right mentality. The right mentality can be managed, and here are some tips on how to do.

Visualize Playing Perfect Games In Your Mind

As good as it is to believe in yourself, it's not enough you must learn to practice playing golf on and off the course. Since success starts in your mind, you should learn to visualize playing golf in your mind. Visualize playing golf in your mind and getting it right. If you get it right in your mind you'll be surprised how easy it will be when it's time to actually play it on the course.

Self Confidence

If you are going to be the best in anything in life there is a need for you to first believe in yourself. If you don't believe in yourself you won't be able to overcome the challenges that come your way easily and you will be intimidated by other people's success. In golf, the same applies, you need to believe in yourself, believe you can master the game and compete with the best of the best. If you believe it you can achieve it.

Don't Let Others Intimidate

The reason why some people find it difficult to improve their game is because they feel intimidated by the people they play with. They see themselves as not good enough to compete with such people. This sets up a mental barrier that actually reflects in their game. You must be confident in your game, believe in yourself and refuse to be intimidated by others. You are all playing on the same course with the same kind of clubs, it's just in getting the ball into the hole as quick as you can with less attempts. Refuse to see the others, see yourself as having a good time and you will be pleasantly surprised how easy it is to beat those you think are too good for you to play against.

As mentioned above, it is important to note that no game is completely won in the mind. Victory starts in the mind but it doesn't end there. You must make an effort to apply what you have in your mind into real life games. Practice and training is important factor that join the gap between winning in the mind and winning in real life, so practice is very important in improving your game in golf.

Ensure you cultivate the right mentality and develop a good training and practice schedule, then you will able to improve your game as you won't be easily discouraged even when you don't get it right in your first attempts. When you have the right mentality, your initial failures and setbacks are perceived as part of the process of getting better and becoming a master golfer.

SUMMARY

Being a great golfer starts with having the right mentality. This can be cultivated by believing in yourself, visualizing playing perfect games in your mind and refusing to be intimidated by others. But it should not end there as practice and training is what brings victory in the mind to real life games.

Playing Your First Golf Round - Part 5

In part 4 of your first golf round I touched on the 1st tee jitters and some course courtesies or etiquette. After you have hit your ball on the 1st tee along with your fellow golfers the real game begins. I will continue to elaborate on some of the golf rules and etiquette of the game as we continue down the first fairway. Note : Etiquette is defined as the courtesies extended to your fellow golfers both in your group and on the golf course and to the golf course itself, ie; being quiet and standing to the side while another player is preparing to hit their shot, yelling fore if an errant shot is going off line and maybe toward another golfer, replacing a divot which is displaced during a golf shot, etc.. When all of the players have hit their tee shots you will go to the players ball who is furthest from the green on that particular hole first.

The other players in the group or foursome, which is a common name for a group of golfers because the players are normally set up in groups of four, will stand off to the side out of the view of the player who is about to hit or address the ball. This will allow them to attain the maximum concentration without the distraction of someone off to the side talking or moving around , an important rule of golf course etiquette. You will all then proceed to hit your second shots in order of who is furthest from the green or away as referred to in golf lingo, while observing golf etiquette and no longer using a tee. The tee is the wooden or plastic accessory used to raise the ball to a desired height off the ground can only be used on the first shot on each golf hole. The subsequent shots must be played where they lie in adhering to the normal rules of golf.

In inclement conditions , after rain or where there is standing water in the fairway or rough, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and placed so that a player is not unfairly penalized for abnormal conditions they may encounter on the course any particular day. There are also winter rules and ground under repair situations whereby you may remove and replace your ball in a new location, no closer to the hole, without penalty. When you become proficient enough to play competitively or even join a golf club you must be careful to establish the rules and have everyone agree to the rules before you begin play or you may be called and penalized strokes or loss of a match because of an infraction of said rules.

When you approach your ball and prepare to hit your second shot make sure you remember to align your self to the target ahead. When the swing is executed properly many players will take a divot, which is a section of grass or turf and shoot it into the air as they complete their swing. Golf course etiquette dictates that the divot be replaced or a mixture of seed and fertilizer be poured into the spot where the divot was taken. Note: Many players, especially beginners will try to lift the ball with their club instead of hitting the ball with a descending blow which actually will cause the ball to rise up more proficiently, thus the reason the divot is taken. The correct swing for each person will come with practice under the guidance of a golf professional, whenever possible. A pro can help an individual attain a much more proficient swing in a much shorter amount of time than when self taught. You can learn yourself, as I did, but the reading and the experimentation process usually takes much longer than being taught by someone who knows how. After the second shot you will proceed to hit the ball until you reach the green , which is the tightly mowed area of grass around the flag stick or pin ( another name for the flag stick), whichever terminology you prefer. The ball will then be putted into the hole in the least amount of strokes possible, which will be discussed in Part 6.

The key to golf is to allow yourself to have fun and enjoy the game no matter what your skill level. Happy Golfing to all !
