The stylish Tamrac Express 8 Backpack combines upscale, contemporary design with the functionality that only a Tamrac camera bag provides. This sophisticated photo backpack features a protective lower compartment for photo equipment and a top compartment for personal items. The fully foam-padded lower compartment with adjustable, foam-padded dividers protects and provides a custom fit to a digital or film SLR with a 3½" lens attached, an additional lens, a small flash and accessories. A large front pocket, zippered Speed Pocket on the front flap and side pockets organize important accessories. The Express 8 can be carried by the carrying handle or the comfortable, foam-padded backpack harness. Highlighted with ultra suede accents in discrete black on black, this bag will fit everyone's lifestyle.

The LensPen is one of the most invaluable accessories a photographer can own. Its unique design makes cleaning your lens fast, simple and effective. On one end, a retractable soft brush sweeps dust and loose particles away from the glass. On the other end, a special dry cleaning compound is used to gently remove fingerprints and spots. The result is a crystal clear lens surface and better pictures in just seconds, a feat that other cleaning items just can't match.

The LensPen DigiKlear LCD Cleaning System has a special triangular tip that gives it the ability to clean the corners of many screens that would otherwise remain covered in dust and grime. The result is a crystal clear screen in just seconds, a feat that other cleaning items just can't match.

This 6-piece cleaning kit contains a Hurricane air blower, lens cleaning tissues, lens cloth, lens cleaning liquid, blower brush and cotton swabs.

Personally, I've always tried to find the best quality equipment that I could afford through the many years that I've played ice hockey. I have found that it is better to pay a little more for equipment that will last more than a season or two (unless you're not sure you want to settle in the game), than spending more and more on equipment that won't last or be as protective.

If you plan on playing hockey for the short term, equipment manufactured in the Far East might be considered as it is less expensive than their "pro" level equivalent, (usually produced in Canada and Scandinavia). On the other hand, the equipment made in the Far East provides a little less protection, quality and durability. Getting quality gear will pay for itself in the long term.

Canada and Scandinavia are steeped in the sport of hockey and produce better quality equipment, although at a higher price for the value.

Major Brands are RBK (Reebok), Bauer, Mission, Itech, CCM, Easton, Jofa, Koho and Vaughn (just for goalies). Observe what the Pros are wearing. Even though they are subsidized by the manufacturers, they also have to endure a long season to make their livelihood.

These companies have a range of equipment that covers the spectrum from the novice to the professional. Keep in mind that these companies pro level equipment are usually manufactured in Canada or Scandinavia, with levels below (senior, intermediate and junior) being made in the Far East.

When choosing the equipment, it is a good idea to try the gear on at a local shop for fit and protection. For instance, when trying on goalie pads bring your skates and goalie pants, to make sure that the pads will integrate with the rest of your gear.

If you find deals locally go for it, as it may be better supported than buying online.

Keep in mind that there are a lot of online deals and closeouts as well.

It is ultimately your choice. Wherever you go, just go educated.
