Outside in a golf swing is the most commonly played bad shot in golf. It is when the player does not hit the ball properly and it caused it to move inaccurately. Many people are not sure what causes it and so do not know where to start working in order to put it right.
It is commonly believed that it is caused by using the arms too much in the swing and other people say it is by swinging not close enough to the body. In fact it is probably caused by both of these things - by swinging more with the body instead of the arms you should be able to get a much better shot. But how can you achieve this.
It is quite a tricky thing o practice and trying to use the body more than the arms is not something which comes naturally to most people. A good way to help is to strengthen those muscles that you use for the swing such as the abdominals and lower back.
This means that when you try to swing and use these muscles, they will be more flexible and therefore better able to move as you want them to. If these muscles are weak then it is likely that it is easier to swing with the arms as you are more used to using these muscles and they are stringer.
By strengthening other muscles that you need to use, you will find that they will be more capable of working and helping with the swing action and therefore preventing an outside in golf swing.
